June 18, 2018 - International University – Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City held the ceremony to announce the appointment of Dr. Tran Tien Khoa to be the new Rector of International University.

The ceremony was held at the main campus of International University (Linh Trung Ward, Thu Duc District) with the participation of many distinguished guests representing higher authorities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM), VNU-HCM members institutions and other universities as well as international partners and enterprises.
The appointing Decision was signed by Assoc. Prof.  Huynh Thanh Dat - Director of VNU-HCM on 04/06/2018. Accordingly, Dr. Tran Tien Khoa becomes the next Rector of International University instead of People's Teacher – Dr. Ho Thanh Phong, who has just finished his tenure.

Dr. Tran Tien Khoa was born in 1964, from Bac Lieu Province, earned doctorate degree in Business Administration at the Western Sydney University. Before becoming the Rector of International University, Dr. Tran Tien Khoa has worked and has considerable experience in education management, including:

• Deputy Director of Center for Educational Testing and Quality Assessment of VNU-HCM (from 2000 to 2004)
• Chief of Office of VNU-HCM, Member of the Standing Committee of VNU-HCM (2004-2007)
• Vice-Rector of International University (from December 2007 to May 5/2018)
• Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee (from 2015).

Dr. Tran Tien Khoa is the 3rd Rector of International University after nearly 15 years of establishment and development. The two former Rectors are Doctor of Science Prof. Phan Quoc Khanh and People's Teacher, Dr. Ho Thanh Phong.
